Andy Aitchison Quartet

We met at a jam session in November 2017 and it sounded good from the first note. We have put together a couple of short clips so you can hear for yourself.

Think Stephane Grappelli meets after hours jazz standards. Swing, bob, blues - sometimes in the phrase - played with passion and heart.

Andy Aitchison (violin) - playing festivals across Europe (UK, France, Holland, Italy and more) with latest album reviewed by The Strad as "an assured debut" and CB Baby saying "There can be little doubt that this band and the release of it’s first album will firmly establish Andy Aitchison up there alongside the leading swing jazz violinists of all time." Sideman to many great guitarists such as Lollo Meier, John Etheridge and many more - with his own individual violin style mixing blues, jazz and other influences.

Andrew 'Woody' Wood (drums) - since graduating from Leeds Collge of Music in 2013, Andrew has enjoyed a successful freelance career performing in the UK, Spain, Andorra, Germany and Poland at venues ranging from intimate jazz clubs to the Royal Albert Hall. With Matt Ratcliffe (piano) and Martyn Spence (bass).

Here are a couple of clips so you get the idea - recorded and mixed one chilly December day in Nottingham by Tom Harris.
